Courage

(link to original piece and comments)
Courage steps forward
When all else fails
It glistens in the sun
Of instantaneous decisions

Courage is a line of flags
Red, white, and blue
Memorials to soldiers, forefathers
Perhaps even you

Courage is innate, shrouded
It searches for unlikely candidates
Grieving widows
Meeting tomorrow head-on

Courage is riddled
Throughout eternity
Judged and determined
By an historian’s pen

You've done a beautiful job personifying courage. There are so many powerful lines in this poem. The whole first and second stanzas. The second stanza particularly to me because my son is in the military. I love the third stanza as I picture courage searching for people to invade. Like I commented earlier, keep up your poetry writing.
